Asbury Park, NJ – August 23, 2021 – The Boys & Girls Clubs of Monmouth County (BGCM) will be hosting the party of the year with its annual signature fundraiser, “A Most Unusual Evening” on Saturday, October 23rd at Asbury Lanes.
Guests will embrace a 1920s meets 2020s theme by dressing “dapper…bootlegger or flapper” as they enjoy an unexpected evening of live music by Ian Gray and the Ocean Avenue Swingers, period entertainment by B-Xtreme, auctions and raffles, dancing, an open bar, and fantastic food. A Most Unusual Evening is the biggest fundraiser of the year for BGCM, the proceeds of which will fund programming for nearly 2,000 at-risk children this year. As per Asbury Lanes policy, all attendees will be required to show evidence of their full vaccination against COVID-19 OR produce a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to attending the event.
“After having to cancel and postpone so many events, which are critical sources of funding for our life-changing programs, it is so wonderful that we will once again be able to gather together for an evening that guests look forward to all year,” said Douglas Eagles, Executive Director of BGCM. The Club has been serving children with both in-person and virtual programming throughout the pandemic, and this event generates much-needed revenue for after-school and summer camp programs for Asbury Park, Neptune, and Red Bank children.
Major sponsors of the event are iStar and Crum & Forster, and the event committee, co-chaired by Sharon Mattingly and Denise Colford, is Joe Baumann, Katharine Gibson, Tracy Hagger, Tina Kerekes, Jamie Hayes, Lisi Klus, Michele McGlyn, Lisa Ranucci, Sofia Ranucci, Nancy Ryan, Ray, Christina Torres, and Samantha Weiner. Tickets and sponsorships can be purchased at www.bgcmonmouth.org.
