One of the ways we celebrated Black History Month this February was by hosting an African American Read-In, promoting literacy at our Red Bank, Asbury Park, and Long Branch sites.
The National African American Read-In program encourages communities to read together, centering African American books and authors.
We had a special guest reader, 9-year-old performing artist Ryver Bey, who read the first two chapters of her upcoming book and shared her experience as a young performer with our Club members.
