As a supporter of the Boys & Girls Club, you likely know our motto well: Great Futures Start Here. It’s a promise to every young person who walks through our doors, as well as a declaration to the community of our commitment to have a transformative impact on Monmouth County’s children. Our strategic plan was crafted with that in mind, ensuring that the Boys & Girls Club is responding to our community’s immediate needs while proactively building a stronger, more effective organization that can adapt and thrive in the years to come. Which is why I am excited to share with you the key points of our strategic plan for 2024 to 2027.
This plan, developed over 18 months with input from our Club kids, their families, staff, board members, and key stakeholders, is designed to make our children, and our organization, “future ready.”
The plan focuses on several priorities:
- Youth Impact: We focus on delivering the best possible experiences for our young members, equipping them with skills and experiences necessary for life and workforce readiness, including academic success, character development, leadership, and health and well-being.
- Talent Development: Attracting, retaining, and developing diverse, transformational leaders at all levels is essential. We aim to professionalize our workforce and ensure our staff are well-trained and motivated to deliver high-quality youth development programming.
- Organizational Strength: We are committed to maintaining robust financial health, adopting sustainable business practices, fostering a positive culture across all our sites, and launching a capital campaign to upgrade and renovate our Club facilities.
- Influence: We seek to influence public opinion and action to benefit young people, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met through advocacy and engagement.
- Digital Transformation: Embracing technology as a strategic advantage in every aspect of our operations is vital. By closing the digital divide for our members, we prepare them to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
Our guiding principles—excellence, belonging, continuous improvement, accountability, and collective impact—are the foundation of everything we do. We prioritize the safety of our young people and strive to create inclusive environments where everyone feels valued and respected.
Our goals are ambitious yet attainable. We aim to expand our reach, enhance program quality, and empower young people to achieve positive outcomes in health, well-being, character, leadership, academic success, and life readiness. This strategic plan is our commitment to creating a brighter future for all.
