The holiday season is a magical time at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monmouth County, and this year, our staff infused festive spirit into our programming all month long. One of the highlights? A creative and educational STEM activity that combines the season’s joy with hands-on learning.
Our members explored engineering concepts by building Christmas trees using Dots candies and toothpicks. This fun and festive project encouraged our young engineers to think critically about structure and shape while expressing their creativity. Every tree was a unique masterpiece, reflecting a variety of designs and approaches. Some trees reached for the stars with impressive height, while others dazzled with intricate patterns and stability.
It was inspiring to watch the pride our members took in their creations. Beyond the fun of the activity, they developed problem-solving skills, learned about balance and construction, and discovered how science and art can come together in unexpected ways.
At the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monmouth County, we believe in fostering curiosity and creativity in every child. Activities like these make learning fun and help our members build skills that will serve them throughout their lives.
We’re grateful to our dedicated staff for bringing holiday cheer and innovation to our programming and our incredible members for their enthusiasm and ingenuity. Here’s to a season of growth, learning, and festive fun!
