January is National Mentoring Month, and we are thankful for the opportunity to highlight the impact of mentorship on our young people. Positive, supportive relationships with trusted adults are essential for academic success, especially for teens. As their brains develop, teens naturally put less emphasis on parental voices and tune in to new ones, making it critical for them to have a support system of trusted adults and peers. At the Club, youth find exactly that. Through supportive after-school programs, young people gain confidence, believe in their own success, and develop high expectations for their future—creating a snowball effect that fosters academic achievement and personal growth.
