At the Club we teach Internet safety skills through engaging multimedia activities and offline interaction with Club professionals in three age-appropriate groups.

Passport to Manhood

Passport to Manhood promotes and teaches responsibility in Club boys ages 11 to 14. Passport to Manhood consists of 14 sessions, each concentrating on a specific aspect of character and manhood through highly interactive activities.

The SMART Moves (Skills Mastery and Resistance Training) prevention/education program addresses problems such as drug and alcohol use and premature sexual activity.

An outgrowth of the popular and effective SMART Moves program, SMART Girls is a health, fitness, prevention/education and self-esteem enhancement program for girls ages 8 to 17.

Healthy Habits

Designed to incorporate healthy living and active learning in every part of the Club experience, Healthy Habits emphasizes good nutrition, regular physical activity, and improving overall well-being.

Breath Easier with Asthma Management (BEAM)

Breathe Easier with Asthma Management: BEAM was created by The Horizon Foundation for New Jersey  to raise awareness about asthma and to educate children and their parents or caregivers about the disorder and how best to manage it.  BGCNJ was selected as the state program office and oversees the day-to-day operations of the initiative. The Foundation has invested $1.7M in the program since its inception in 2014.

For the first two phases of BEAM, The Foundation awarded grants totaling $1.1M to the BGCNJ.  The program has impacted over 5,000 youth, ages 5-18 years, at 16 Boys & Girls Clubs at 40 locations in 12 counties.

Given the success of the program, The Foundation invested an additional $600,000 in 2016 to implement Phase 3 and expand the program to serve another 2,800 youth at 20 Boys & Girls Clubs at 50 locations in 14 counties by 2018.
