Lowe’s Red Vest Volunteers Support Major Renovation at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monmouth County as Part of Lowe’s “10 Million Square Feet of Impact” Initiative
Asbury Park, NJ — November 6, 2025 — Lowe’s red vest associates came together at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monmouth County’s Asbury Park Unit to support a major renovation project as part of Lowe’s 10 Million Square Feet of Impact initiative.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Monmouth County (BGCM) was selected as one of just 100 projects nationwide to receive a $100,000 Lowe’s Hometowns grant—part of Lowe’s five-year, $100 million commitment to renovate and rebuild community spaces that serve as the heart of hometowns across America.
During Red Vest Day, Lowe’s volunteers from across the region worked to transform the Asbury Park Clubhouse. Together, they:
- Painted the upstairs and downstairs program spaces
- Prepped the facility for new flooring installation
- Repaired faucets and plumbing issues in the children’s bathrooms
- Removed damaged mats from the gym
Following Red Vest Day, the renovations continued thanks to the Lowe’s Hometowns investment. J&S Flooring replaced the floors, and Lowe’s staff returned to complete detailed finish work. Premier Roofing replaced the gym roof, and Access Locksmith will be installing new front entry doors. Replacement gym mats will soon complete the transformation.
“These improvements will have a lasting impact on the thousands of young people who rely on the Club as a safe, welcoming space after school,” said Douglas Eagles, CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monmouth County. “We are deeply grateful to Lowe’s for investing in the spaces where our kids learn, grow, and build brighter futures.”
Earlier this year, Lowe’s announced its 10 Million Square Feet of Impact promise to capture the immeasurable difference made when Lowe’s shows up to help, including through initiatives like Lowe’s Hometowns. With help from Lowe’s red vest associates, projects across the country are expanding food pantry kitchens, restoring transitional housing, revitalizing community parks, and building restorative spaces for first responders.
In addition to the 100 grant-funded Hometowns projects, Lowe’s associates will complete more than 1,700 local community revitalization projects, contributing to the company’s 10 million square feet of impact goal.
