This Election Day, our Clubhouses were buzzing with excitement as members stepped into the role of voters—casting ballots, debating choices, and learning what it truly means to make their voices heard. At the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monmouth County, civic engagement starts early, and this year’s activities gave our kids a meaningful (and fun!) introduction to the democratic process.
A Big Decision for Our Young Voters
At the Asbury Park Unit, the stakes were deliciously high. Members faced a tough ballot decision:
Cookie & Cupcake Decorating Party vs. In-Club Movie Theater Party.
After a spirited campaign, lively discussions, and thoughtful debate between supporters of both sides, the votes were cast. In the end, the In-Club Movie Theater Party came out on top!
A Fun and Memorable Lesson in Civic Engagement
Across all sites, members experienced firsthand what it means to participate in an election—making a choice, casting a ballot, and accepting the result with teamwork and good sportsmanship. These small, joyful moments help our kids understand a big truth: their voice matters.
The day’s activities offered a playful but powerful lesson in civic responsibility, setting the foundation for lifelong engagement in their communities.
