Program Director for our 21st Century Community Learning Center, Tykeeya Gibson plays a vital role in shaping an environment where young people feel supported, challenged, and encouraged to grow. Each day she works to create a space where members feel safe enough to discover new interests and talents, grow in confidence, and learn to encourage one another. Her leadership reflects patience, consistency, and genuine care, and these qualities leave a lasting impression on the children and families she serves. We are proud to spotlight Tykeeya and the impact she makes at the Club every day.
What is your favorite part of working at the Club?
My favorite part is building relationships with the kids and watching their confidence grow.
What is your proudest accomplishment at the Club?
I am most proud of helping our members grow closer to one another while also discovering new skills and strengths they didn’t realize they had. Watching them build confidence, try new things, and support each other.
What or who has been a significant influence in your life and why?
The family I created has been the biggest influence in my life. They inspire me to lead with love, patience, and understanding. Things I bring with me every day working at the Club.
What’s a fun fact about you that most people at the Club might not know?
I love dancing even though I always say I really don’t know how! It’s something that brings me joy and keeps my energy up.
