We are thrilled to introduce the BGCM Long Branch Unit, housed within the Bucky James Community Center on Wilbur Ave. This new Clubhouse, which opened its doors in May 2023, extends our nationally recognized after-school programs to children aged 5 to 13. The establishment of this facility in Long Branch was made possible through strategic planning and the collaborative efforts of Mayor John Pallone, the Long Branch City Council, and the Recreation Department.
We are immensely grateful for the support from Amazon, the Sharon Cruz Grantor Trust, and Monmouth Medical Center, which funded this initiative. The community’s response was overwhelmingly positive, with full enrollment shortly after the launch.
Building on this success, the Club introduced a 7-week summer camp and hosted a special football skills training event featuring Rutgers University athletes, including quarterback Gavin Wimsatt and wide receiver Sean Ryan. The BGCM Long Branch Unit is a testament to our commitment to enriching the lives of young people through high-quality, impactful programs.
