Destiny Smith’s career has been shaped by more than a decade of hands-on leadership in youth development, program strategy, and organizational impact. She has grown within the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monmouth County by designing and leading initiatives that expand opportunities for young people through leadership development, workforce readiness, and real-world learning experiences.
Over the course of her career, she has overseen multi-site programming, managed major grant-funded initiatives such as the 21st Century Community Learning Centers, and led the development of innovative programs that connect youth with career exploration, skill-building, and mentorship. Equally important to Ms. Smith is cultivating the growth and development of the adults who serve our youth. She has led initiatives that strengthen staff capacity through training, coaching, and professional development, ensuring that our team has the skills, knowledge, and support to deliver high-quality programming and foster meaningful relationships with the young people we serve.
Her leadership approach has been built through direct experience working alongside young people, developing staff, and building partnerships that strengthen opportunities for youth across the communities we serve. As Chief Impact Officer, Ms. Smith focuses on driving the strategic vision for youth impact across the organization while empowering our staff to reach their full potential, ensuring our programs remain innovative, responsive to community needs, and aligned with measurable outcomes that help both youth and staff thrive.

Seeing young people recognize their potential and begin to believe in what’s possible for their future. Being able to help create programs and experiences that open doors for them is the most rewarding part of my work.
I enjoy reading and exploring new places whenever I can.
The resilience and potential of young people. Every day they remind me why this work matters and push me to keep building opportunities that help them succeed.
