Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) will visit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monmouth County’s Asbury Park Unit on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 2:00 pm for an event on water safety. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Monmouth County offer a Learn-to-Swim Program for children ages 6-12.

Tragically, over Memorial Day weekend there were two ocean drownings in Monmouth County. Congressman Pallone will visit a swim class at the Boys & Girls Club and speak about the importance of swimming skills and water safety.

There are approximately 3,500 drowning deaths in the United States each year and drowning is the fifth most-common cause of unintentional injury death in the U.S., according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Monmouth County offers affordable swim programs for beginner, intermediate and advanced swimmers. All children are eligible for swim classes. To learn more, please call our main office at 732-775-7862 or email Jaclyn@bgcmonmouth.org.
