The past two weeks have been quite a challenge for BGCM club members, staff, friends and family in New Jersey after Hurricane Sandy.  Both the Red Bank and Asbury Park Units survived with just a tree down in Asbury Park and both units losing power for a few days.  Our hearts go out to everyone who has been affected.  With continued support from individuals, businesses, and organizations in our area, we have been doing everything we can to help our community get back on its feet.

BGC-Montana-1The day after the hurricane, we received an email from Tabitha Kraack, Director of Teen Services at the Boys and Girls Club of Yellowstone County in Billings, Montana.  Tabitha and her teens offered their services in helping our members and their families.  As a result, Tabitha’s Torch Club and teen members are making bracelets to sell in order to raise $550 to purchase grocery store gift cards to help our members restock their refrigerators after the storm and power losses.

It’s wonderful and inspiring to see how much we all care for one another, even from over 2000 miles away! A great big thank you to Tabitha and her teens and Torch Club for their generosity.
