Whatever it takes

85 years of building great futures

Dear Friends,

As we celebrate the 85th anniversary of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monmouth County, I find myself reflecting on the incredible legacy of transformation and empowerment that we’ve built together. This year, more than ever, I am reminded of the profound impact we’ve had on countless lives, and I want to share with you the story of Tyshawn, a testament to the enduring legacy of our Club.

Tyshawn started coming to the Club as a timid 10-year-old, burdened by significant academic struggles and limited by a challenging home life. Like many children who walk through our doors, Tyshawn needed more than just a safe space; he needed a place to grow, dream, and discover who he was meant to be.

Our Club became that place for Tyshawn. Through our mentorship program and enrichment offerings, he discovered his passion for music. With the guidance of our staff, Tyshawn transformed from a shy boy into a confident young leader, shining as one of our top teen staff members. Today, he dreams of becoming an audio engineer, and the other kids who find themselves in circumstances similar to Tyshawn’s look up to him as a role model.

Tyshawn’s story is not just a success story; it’s a legacy story. He embodies the aspirations of those who founded our Club 85 years ago—a legacy of empowering young people to reach their full potential. To lead richer, fuller lives, greater than they ever allowed themselves to imagine.

This year, in honor of our 85th anniversary, I humbly ask you to consider a donation to our year-end fundraising campaign.

Thanks to the generosity of dedicated donors Kate Sweeney & Fifi Max, every contribution you make before December 31st will be matched dollar for dollar, up to a total of $50,000!

Your gift will have double the power to make a difference in the lives of those we serve, not only transforming individual lives but also contributing to a legacy that will benefit our community for generations to come.

Thank you for being a part of this incredible journey and for investing in a legacy that will live on for the next 85 years and beyond.

Warm regards,

Douglas Eagles, Chief Executive Officer

Boys & Girls Clubs of Monmouth County

When you make your year-end gift today, you will watch it go twice as far in making a meaningful impact. Thank you.
