100 guests enjoyed an art-filled evening at Gallery U in Red Bank on Monday, March 25th, where a special exhibition showcased the talented artwork of the Red Bank Club’s young artists.  The pieces were created by members ranging from ages 5 to 15 and this was the second annual art show presented in Red Bank by BGCM.  Gallery U, located at 80 Broad Street, kindly donated their gallery space to fill the walls with colorful and imaginative works made exclusively by the children.
The “From our heARTS” exhibit is part of the Club’s preparation to participate in the Boys and Girls Clubs of America’s National Fine Arts Exhibit Program.  The program includes Boys and Girls Clubs across America, searching for talented young artists.  The program seeks to promote creativity in young individuals, enrich culture and encourage artistic skills.
Prior to the gallery exhibit, 15 members traveled to The Museum of Modern Art in NYC to learn more about inventive art styling and see how artwork is displayed.  The BGCM can submit member’s artwork to the National Fine Arts Exhibit Program in four age divisions and 10 artistic categories.  Some of the pieces include watercolor, pastel, oil, acrylic, and collage!  37 national winners will be announced and the art will be displayed at special events throughout the year!
In addition to viewing the magnificent and innovative artwork, guests enjoyed appetizers generously provided by Lunch Break and the Food Bank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties.  The fun doesn’t stop there.  The Melting Pot of Red Bank donated chocolate fondue for all to indulge!  A raffle also commenced, with items contributed by Good Karma Cafe, located in Red Bank as well as artist, Eleanor James.
The event raised $475 for BGCM through art sales and the raffle! It was truly an inspiring night and we would like to thank everyone who participated and contributed!
